When Disaster Strikes,
We're Already There.

Douglas County ARES is a team of licensed amateur radio volunteers who provide critical emergency communications when conventional systems fail — supporting first responders, hospitals, and served agencies across our community.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Mission: To support Douglas County emergency communication lifelines, if traditional methods become ineffective. When activated, ARES members will work to provide support to disaster response through radio or satellite communications equipment to ensure critical information is being transmitted and received to appropriate stakeholders.

The Communications Backbone When It Matters Most

Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES) is a program of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL). Douglas County ARES volunteers are FCC licensed amateur radio operators who have registered their capabilities and equipment with Dc-ARES for deployment in times of need.

We work alongside the Douglas County Office of Emergency Management, the American Red Cross, Mercy Hospitals, and other served agencies — providing voice, digital, and data communications when phone lines, internet, and commercial radio systems fail.
