What We Do in the Field
DC ARES volunteers are trained and licensed amateur radio operators who stand ready to serve Douglas County whenever communications are needed most.
Emergency Activations
When conventional communications fail, DC ARES operators deploy to provide voice, digital, and data communications for served agencies including Douglas County Emergency Management.
Public Service Events
We support community events such as marathons, parades, and search-and-rescue operations with trained communicators and reliable radio equipment.
Exercises & Drills
Regular simulated emergency tests (SETs) and ARES Field Day activations keep our operators sharp and our equipment ready for real-world deployment.
