Douglas County ARES is an all-volunteer organization. We rely on donated equipment to expand our capabilities, train new members, and maintain redundant communications infrastructure for emergencies.
Whether you're a licensed ham upgrading your shack, an estate handling a Silent Key's equipment, or simply have gear collecting dust — we can put it to work for the community.
Silent Key Estates
If you are handling the estate of a Silent Key (a deceased amateur radio operator), we are honored to receive their equipment and will ensure it continues to serve the amateur radio community in Douglas County.

Equipment We Welcome
We accept most amateur radio equipment in any condition — working gear goes into active service, and non-working gear may be used for parts or training.
HF Transceivers
Any condition — working or for parts. HF rigs are the backbone of our long-distance emergency communications.
VHF / UHF Radios
Mobile and handheld radios for local repeater and simplex operations during activations.
Antennas & Feedline
Dipoles, verticals, Yagis, coax, connectors — all useful for portable and fixed station setups.
Digital Mode Equipment
Sound cards, TNC units, Winlink-capable hardware, and computers for digital emergency communications.
Power Supplies & Batteries
Linear and switching power supplies, deep-cycle batteries, and solar charging equipment.
Accessories & Misc
Microphones, headsets, logging equipment, cases, mounts, and general ham radio accessories.

How to Donate
The process is simple — reach out first and we'll take it from there.
Contact Us First

We'll Respond Quickly
Our Equipment Manager will review your donation and confirm whether it fits our current needs.
Arrange Drop-Off or Pickup
We'll coordinate a convenient time and location to receive the equipment — we can often arrange local pickup.

Your donated equipment goes directly into service for Douglas County emergency communications.
